The jumble trumpet of Italian jazz meet his trusted partners Julian Oliver Mazzariello, Jacopo Ferrazza and Nicola Angelucci, with his recent live album State of the Art.
Fabrizio Bosso has set a seal on the most significant moments of an experience and a life that is still to be written, but at the same time consolidated through concerts all over the world, leading a compact group capable of expressing all the nuances of his music.
State of the Art represents the step forward to a new phase of Bosso’s carrier: “When I decided to set up this quartet, I did not think about a disc, but I wanted to listen to my music played by other musicians, with a different energy and color, fresh.
“This is the sound of my present,” says Fabrizio, “and they are, as well as friends, the musicians who enjoy me during an event, because they are able to pull out the sound I have in my head. With them, my great luxury is that I could afford not to play and the music would work equally. ”
In addition to improvisation, a recognizable composing figure (Rumba for Kampei, Mapa, Black Spirit, Dizzy’s Blues, Minor Mood) is visible in the album and it is palpable that Bosso can drag the group away leaving space to express the individual personalities.
