With the first two albums for Verve, the 2003 debut of “Salt” and in 2005 “Dreaming Wide Awake”, Lizz Wright has risen as one of the jazz universe comet. On both albums she presented herself not only as a versatile singer extremely expressive, but also as an extraordinarily skillful writer.
With her’s third album “The Orchard”, the artist makes another significant step forward beyond the boundaries between different genres, delivering a dynamic unparalleled. A very creative album – In “The Orchard”, whose repertoire largely consists of Lizz Wright’s compositions, the artist marks his unmistakably personal musical style. The heat and the full sound of the Wright show intimacy and authority in “Coming Home,” “My Heart”, “Another Angel” and “When I Fall”.
